Why an iPad is perfect for personal trainers? Over the past few weeks we have done quite a few blogs on how Apple is helping making long-lasting health and wellness more accessible to the general public. From fantastic apps like MyFitnessPal that allow the health conscious to track precisely what they are eating to the recent innovation that helps improve communication between doctors and patients, Apple are making tremendous strides in the health and wellness sector, which is perhaps unsurprising given that it is worth an outstanding $200 billion and growing.
However, there is one segment that can also benefit from the fantastic range of Apple products: the personal training field. Love them or hate them, your personal trainer is there to help you whip your ass into shape and boy do they work hard. Generally coming to your homes, they have to travel, exercise and motivate all with a smile on their face – we guess at least they get to wear a lot of active wear. Now, we have a number of clients who are personal trainers and so we did a quick survey on what apps on their iPad they could simply not live without? And so for your viewing pleasure here they are ladies and gents….
The Training Notebook
Made especially for personal trainers, this app has everything you need to run your business. Compatible with the iPhone, iPad and even the MacBook, it means you never have to rely on a spreadsheet again. Hallelujah! Enabling you to access all your client’s workout programmes, training schedules, assessments and contact info all in one place, it is a must-have for any personal trainer worth their salt.
FitW (this doesn’t come up on app store!?)
This app can really help take your personalised programmes to the next level. It connects with your clients and encourages them to input their workouts, diet and health to keep you up to date with their progress. This should help your clients feel far more accountable and, hopefully, help them stay with you longer. It even offers you the ability to develop catered fitness programmes – not to shabby for £2 a month.
My Best Studio
This is for the personal trainer who already has a fair few clients and is struggling to juggle all of their responsibilities. It essentially allows for the streamlining of schedules, sales and bookings as well as new client sign-ups. It even allows an easy method of monitoring your income stream – really helping you to drive your business forward.
To be perfectly honest, this app does pretty much the same as all the others. However, its one key benefit is that it sends out automated text messages to remind your clients of their session – no more excuses! And it even has a free trial for 30 days.
This app is pretty new, but set to revolutionise the exercise market. Not only does it allow you to manage all aspects of your personal training, but it also means that potential new clients can search for trainers in their local area and find you. Nice, easy and simple.
