At Mac Rental Company it may not have escaped your notice that we are pretty big fans of Apple. However, even we have to admit that the release of their Airpods which allowed you to listen to your music with having to deal with any irritating wires did not exactly go off without a hitch. Derided at first before being released ever so slightly late….they have not been without controversy. Although that being said the fantastic folk at Apple aren’t exactly scared of controversy and even some of their stellar products such as the iPhone X and the iMac have been subject to pretty heated debate on the internet and Apple Plans to upgrade Apple Airpod’s.
However, whilst the Airpods may have gotten off to a difficult start, they have clearly changed the minds of people and are now doing extremely well. Since their launch, they have been considered one of the top performing Apple products and have done pretty spectacularly with Apple reviewers and users. So much so that they are now having an upgrade…according to our sources at the heart of Apple headquarters in California they are currently working on a new version all set for release as early as March 2018. Not only that , but it would seem Apple are already planning a release for 2019 as well – one that would be completely water resistant. Although rumour has it that the current iteration of the AirPods could be submerged in one foot of water for five minutes, and even go through a washing and drying cycle and come out completely normal – although we wouldn’t recommend you try this at home. This is clearly at the forefront of the engineers’ plans at Apple headquarters as the latest iPhones are splash resistant, whilst technically you should be able to swim in your Apple Watch although we wouldn’t risk that one. Although we certainly wouldn’t risk dumping any of the Apple products in water as that can, quite frankly, not end well.
However, let’s not get ahead of our ourselves…the first model will let Apple fans summon Siri by simply saying “Hey Siri” and without having to actually tap the headphones in a similar hands-free way to an iPhone or HomePod.
And, if all this wasn’t enough, it also seems that Apple plans to develop a brand new, high end, over ear headphone to join its audio accessory lineup. Most likely they will feature wireless connectivity and better acoustic qualities than their current AirPods.
