Mac Rental Company investigates the latest iOS update – iOS 10.3. It would seem after reporting last week that Mac have released a whole range of new products (including a more affordable version of the 9.7 inch iPad, an iPhone 7 in red and a rose gold iPad), the tech giants aren’t quite finished offering us new and improved technology. So far this week they have already released the iOS 10.3 which, according to those who have already downloaded it, has seen users have more storage and even more excitingly a far faster running time. In fact, according to Apple engineers said that the “iOS 10.3 feels ‘snappier’ because many animations were slightly tweaked and shortened, for the better.” The new update also has the ability to locate AirPods using Find my iPhone or by playing sound on them, as well as increased functionality with Siri, which includes making payments and bookings. You will also be able to rent and watch your iTunes movies across your devices and have far more advanced functionality in your calendar to delete unwanted invites and report it as junk.
And if that wasn’t enough there are rumours that Apple are set to release another update: the iOS 10.3.1 -which may well have a rather serious impact on those Apple users sporting iPhone 5 or even earlier models.
It would seem some tech detectives have been looking into the code of the soon to be released iOS 10.3.2 following on from this week’s release of the iOS 10.3. Most notably an IT specialist, published a tweet in which he claimed that he could find no evidence to suggest that this update would be compatible with any older 32-bit devices. This rumour began a game of Chinese Whispers in the tech world as it was then claimed Apple was going to stop supporting the iPhone 5, iPhone 5c and the 4th generation iPad. However, it would seem like a rather bizarre move on behalf of Apple to make such a major change hidden in what is a very minor update to their technology. If they were going to take such a drastic and bold move, it is far more likely to be announced at this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference on June 5th. Far more likely is that there will be a separate update for the iPhone 5, although currently this is all a lot of speculation really.
