Finally Its Apple iPhone and iPads off the launchpad, the day arrived. We don’t know about you, but here at the Mac Rental Company we had been waiting what seemed like eternity for Apple to finally release the long-awaited new product launch for 2017.
So what has Apple released?
Well, first and foremost they have released a new iPad that they are simply calling iPad – certainly easy to remember. However, don’t let the name fool you – this model is both an advancement upon its predecessors as well as being far cheaper. Encased inside its smooth aluminium case features:
an improved speed thanks to the advanced and faster A9 processor, which is far more powerful than its predecessor the A8X.
a far brighter 9.7 inch Retina display making this iPad the best screen yet on which to Netflix and chill
Apple has also launched a more affordable version of the 9.7 inch iPad, which for the first time lowers the cost of the iPad to $329. However, the reduction in price has also seen a decrease in certain options. Firstly, you will be unable to get the new iPad in rose gold – that colour will now be limited to the iPad Pro. It is also slightly larger than the iPad Air 2, as it does not include a laminated display and weighs 469 grams instead of 437 grams. It also does not support the Apple Pencil, the Smart Keyboard and it lacks many of the recent display improvements including True Tone colour shifting and wide colour gamut. Additionally, it has a slower processor than the iPad Pro, an inferior camera, two cameras instead of four and a slower LTE modem. That being said, it still boasts fantastic retina display, a powerful A9 chip and access to more than 1.3 million apps. It also comes with 10 hour battery life and still has a pretty high quality Retina display.
Not only that, but it turns out the rumours were indeed true. To celebrate their decade-long partnership with RED the iPhone 7 will now come in a dazzling, inspiring shade of red. And for the first time ever the Apple logo will be in a stunning aluminium. With prices starting at £699 for the 128GB iPhone 7 and £819 for the 128 GB iPhone 7 Plus, this is a pretty exciting prospect for Apple fans who are looking for something a little different. And for each phone that gets sold, proceeds will go to The Global Fund – well done Apple.
Meanwhile, the iPhone SE has doubled in capacity – shooting up from 32GB to 128 GB and will be available for pre-order from Friday 24th March with prices starting at £379.
