Is it a bird…is it a plane..no its the new Apple Drone! Have Fun!! Another day, another Apple announcement. At Mac Rental Company we feel as if, after an extended period of quiet time, the head honchos at Apple have suddenly decided to tantalise and tease with a series of announcements and new products.
This week is, quite possibly, the most exciting yet. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s the new Hover camera passport that is now available online and in Apple stores just in time for Easter Bank Holiday weekend. Well….what is this new product we hear you cry?
Created by Zero Zero Robotics, the Hover passport is a lightweight drone made from a carbon fibre material offering a portable solution to all your photography needs. Ladies and gentleman the Instagram bar just got raised.
Weighing a tiny 242 grams and folding easily, and boasting a 13 MP camera with a 4K video support, it can even capture a 360 panoramic video. It can travel at speeds up to 17 miles per hour and features face and body tracking, meaning it can follow you around and capture photos and videos and you will get around 10 minutes of hover time per charge. Your own personal paparazzi if you will – so basically you can feel like a Kardashian for the day.
Some of the advantages of this fantastic technology include the fact that it integrates seamlessly with Apple’s Final Cut Pro and iMovie editing software, and it also has an accompanying iOS app, which offers everything an owner could need including an automated media editing app which will instantly create “bite-sized, moving clips of your moments….to share with family and friends.” As if that wasn’t enough, it is extremely easy to fly as it is powered by artificial intelligence, meaning that even your average technophobe should have no problem piloting this phenomenal piece of machinery.
Priced at a relatively modest $499 which includes the drone, two batteries, one charger, an adapter and a carry bag and in some of the US stores Apple fans will be able to get a live demonstration of the drone – so our American friends may find that their local Apple store just got busier – as if that was even possible?
The only possible downside to the drone is that it’s really very loud – the sound of four small motors running at a high speed, according to our sources, sounds like a swarm of mosquitos attacking your eardrums. So basically the dream, although we at Mac Rental Company think this is a very small price to pay for this phenomenal piece of technology.
So will you be queuing up to buy the drone? We would love to hear from you.
