Syncing

You can now sync all your Apple products; allowing you to copy and paste from your Mac to your iPad or iPhone or vice versa. Not only that, but even the Apple watch is being further integrated into the Apple ecosystem with a Mac automatically unlocking when an Apple watch is detected nearby. Siri

Thanks to Sierra, Siri (we think perhaps it’s time Apple expands its use of names, the team at Mac Rental Company quite like Betty or Margaret for their next update), has finally come to the Mac. Whilst she won’t respond to “hey, Siri” she will pop up when you press Fn + the space bar simultaneously. You will also be able to drag Siri’s answers from a pop-up window to a notification pane or drag images into documents. Rather excitingly you can now personalise your Siri, choosing her nationality and gender to match your personal tastes.

Apple pay

Apple pay is far more impressively integrated across all Apple devices meaning with one quick click of a button you can make a purchase on your Mac. Making the whole purchasing process worryingly simply you will even be able to use Touch ID on your iPhone or tap your watch, making online retailers a rather happy bunch and emptying our pockets far too quickly.

Photos

Helping you make the most of the powerful Apple camera, Sierra has a fantastic level of intelligence when dealing with your photos. It has the capacity to automatically group photos from the same event and then easily convert them into a short move edited that is even set to background music. At Macrentalcompany we think this a particularly helpful addition for charities who organise a number of events on a budget. Not only that, but inside the new Photos app you will be able to search for people using facial recognition and will even be able to search for objects and scenes.

Space Management

Thanks to Sierra’s intelligent software your Mac will now able to determine which files are duplicated or items that have been in the trash for longer than 30 days and delete them. It will also take files that are not regularly in use and store them in the cloud, helping you free up that all important storage on your Mac.
