Apple releases Christmas advert it is indeed that time of year again, Christmas is coming. As we enter into the last week of November, the countdown can officially begin. Whilst for many it might well seem that Christmas has already arrived as they prepare to unwrap their brand new iPhone X’s and marvel at the use of Face ID and the strikingly clear camera quality, it hasn’t really arrived until those Christmas adverts start arriving on your screen. And happily yesterday Apple finally launched their brand new Christmas advert. As usual Apple have launched their new advert on what is Thanksgiving Eve over in the States (or just a normal day for our customers in London and around the UK.)

Entitled ‘Sway’ it features some not so subliminal advertising in the form of one couple sharing a set of AirPods as they dance in the snow – how romantic! Dancing to British singer Sam Smith (we at Mac Rental Company as a British company based in London could not be prouder) and his new song Palace which is taken from his new album The Thrill of it All and is available on Apple music. Apple’s tag for the video is “move someone this holiday.” Playing on traditional themes of love and hope that have become pretty much synonymous with Christmas, it also features a brief glimpse of the brand new iPhone X although at the end of the advert it does mention that this is subject to limited availability. Meanwhile Apple’s AirPods were actually released just in time for the holidays last year, but only for customers who got there just in time as they quickly sold out. In fact, wireless earbuds only just became available after a delayed launch, some extremely high demand (and how can anyone blame the people for wanting these fantastic pieces of equipment,) and only a few actually available in store.

Anyway back to the advert….it starts with the female lead dancing around town and naturally listening to her favourite Sam Smith song on her iPhone X and using her AirPods when she bumps into a guy. She offers one of her AirPods to the guy and they then perform a phenomenal duo under a spotlight. Sadly, it turns out that this scene was all imagined by the girl, but we would still recommend taking a look at the advert for some impressive cinematography and heart-warming messaging.
