Apple iPhone X is two and a half years ahead of the competition. Yes, we know we are biased. We ruddy love all Apple products, but we were pretty excited when it seemed as if every news outlet was busy reporting on how the Apple iPhone X is a good two and a half years ahead of the competition – we shall not mention names here as it would be ungentlemanly. The sudden media furore is thanks to an assessment by KGI securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who was basically warning investors to up their stock in the billion dollar company. And all you need to know about Kuo is that what he says really matters on the stock market and he seems to believe that Apple will sell anywhere from 30 to 35 million iPhone X’s over the next year. Apparently the $999 price mark isn’t as off-putting as you might think, even though Apple are simultaneously releasing the iPhone 8 which is set to be a pretty good piece of technology.
This is mainly due to some leaks from the Chinese government, who have suggested that the iPhone X will come with a 2.715 mAh battery and 3 GB of RAM. This is a huge leap (think Neil’s first steps on the moon) from the iPhone 8 which came with 1.821 mAh battery and even the iPhone 8 plus which came with a 2.675 mAh cell. The extra battery life is believed to be designed specifically to power the new TrueDepth depth-sensing camera that allows users to use their face to unlock their phone – and which we handily discussed in our blog last week (casual plug here). The advantage that Apple have over its competitors in this department is that it uses 3D technology, whereas most of the competition are lagging behind with 2D tech.
In fact, in their conference in September Apple said the iPhone X would last up to two hours longer than its previous models. And as if that wasn’t enough, according to Chinese reports – the RAM capacity for the iPhone X will be 3GB, whilst the Bionic CPU chip will run at 2.4 GHz. H. There are rumours that the iPhone will be dust and waterproof at a microscopic level and that it also has all new display, the “super retina display,” which will have a display of over two million pixels – which is you know….quite a lot.
